Why
not dine.com uses a value quality indexing system to rate restaurants.
This means that if you get a good steak in a nice restaurant for $19.95,
and a slightly better steak is served for $44.95 at an equally nice
restaurant, then we would give the $19.95 restaurant a much higher
rating then it's more expensive counterpart, even though the $44.95
restaurant may have served a better product. Keeping this in mind, Why
Not Dine has selected Le Paradis At 166
Bedford Road as being
Toronto's ultimate French Restaurant value.
Le Paradis gets very busy. Forget about making weekend
reservation unless you book about a week ahead. This neighborhood
bistro will even turn the tables Tuesday Wednesday and Thursday.
There seems to be two secrets to their success with the first being
consistently high quality food, and a second being a reasonable menu.
Main dishes sometime
include Truite
aux Amandes (Rainbow trout with
almonds) or roasted
half chicken, marinated with tarragon and
beef items like Provimi calf’s liver, steaks
braised Lamb shanks, roast pork tenderloin and more.
There is also an interesting selection of desserts included on this
menu. A la carte items are very reasonably priced (with mains ranging
from $13 to $16 dollars) as are the wine markups. Two people can have an
excellent dinner with wine at Le Paradis, and pay $80.00
dollars including all taxes and tip.
A couple of
recommendations about what to order. Stick with their trout, chicken,
the poached salmon or their lamb shanks. The mussels are also highly
recommended.
How could this
restaurant the better?
If it was less
popular, it would be easier to get a table but other than the obvious
difficulties of getting weekend reservation's I can't think of very much
that would improve this restaurant.
