Still Great Lobster - but we
don't recommend Saturday night.

The
Lobster Trap has Toronto's best live lobster - without question - but
unfortunately, since our first review, they can't seem to handle the
volume of business on a Saturday night. They don't take reservations so
you can often expect to wait up to 45 minutes. When you get seated they
make mistakes and the food quality often suffers as well.
Wednesday and Thursday is the best
time to visit The Lobster Trap because shipments of freshly caught
lobsters arrive midweek and the smaller number of customers provides
better service and food quality.

When we think of
seafood, the first thing that comes to mind is lobster, and when we think of
lobster, we think of The
Lobster Trap.
The Lobster Trap
Restaurant receives daily shipments of cold water lobsters, flown in
fresh and live, from the Maritimes. Often the lobster on your table was
caught in the cold maritime waters just hours before. Fresh lobster has
been a Lobster Trap specialty for nearly 35 years and the
Lobster Trap
has been in the same
1962 Avenue Road location for over 30
years. This is one of the few restaurants anywhere in the world were you
can regularly get four pound lobsters.
Lobsters are priced
by the pound at this restaurant starting at about $25.00 and they also offer special lobster
combinations which include soup, salad a beverage and lobster
for $32.25. We
strongly recommend ordering their famous
Lobster Bisque. This rich lobster soup comes with chunks of fresh
lobster.
It's strange
thing how some things we remember as being great when we were young
don't seem as good today. The lobster trap seems to be one of the
few things that seems even better than we remember every time we visit.
This is an outstanding seafood restaurant.
