Sushi Delight - Inexpensive Japanese Food

A lot of people think of the Danforth as being Canada's Greek capital. And while the Greek restaurants are outstanding, the Danforth offers more than just Greek. Japanese maybe? Absolutely, and one of the better Japanese restaurant on the Danforth is Sushi Delight located at 461 Danforth Avenue.

This is a really inexpensive restaurant - My 9 course dinner, the Osaka box, started with an interesting complementary string bean starter, followed by a traditional and outstanding Japanese soup. The main included deep fried calamari shrimp tempura and vegetable tempura, lots of sushi, some great salmon teriyaki and rice. The meal even included a complementary desert. Katherine's Tokyo box included everything in the Osaka but with even more sushi. She chose chicken as the main and the serving was so huge she had to ask for a doggie bag. These complete nine course dinners were $8.95 and $11.95 respectively. The quality was good and the price would have been reasonable at twice the price. Sushi delight is one of Toronto's better values. We tried the restaurant for lunch three days later, and the lunch specials which include soup, rice and three additional courses are only 5.95 - as unbelievable as it was delicious. Outstanding!
