Thai House - Exotic soups alone are worth the visit
Do you think there might just be a few too many Thai restaurants in Toronto now? We do. But here's the thing. People in Toronto and visitors to Toronto really do love Thai, so we reviewed a terrific little Thai restaurant, almost hard to find in a sea of restaurants on Queen Street.
Thai House is located at 2213 Queen Street East in the heart of the beaches.
The restaurant, is clean with a pleasant open décor and tablecloths. Service is friendly. But the highlight of our lunchtime visits was definitely the food. For only $7.50 the set lunches came with a delightful daily soup, (ours was a tasty milky coconut soup with crunchy vegetables), and spring roll, as well as your choice of main course including chicken with ginger, shrimp with cashew nuts or everybody’s favorite, Pad Thai. In fact there were total of 14 different mains on the lunch menu. This price also included a soft drink.
We visited this restaurant twice for lunch and sampled the cashew nut shrimp, the garlic shrimp, Pad Thai and Rice with ginger chicken. All shrimp dishes were excellent as well as the Pad Thai. The chicken dish however was not the best we’ve had but for the price it was acceptable.
Thai House is an unpretentious and good little spot for delicious Thai food at reasonable, (actually bargain) prices. We recommend it next time your in the mood for some exotic Asian treats.
